The renowned city of Barcelona can be reached by land, sea and air. The three options are great and the public transport network will make your arrival to the hotel or apartment very easy.

Arrival to Barcelona by plane, the airport

A new terminal was opened in 2009 in the airport of Barcelona. The new Terminal 1 is, therefore, a modern facility with the ability to manage the influx of people coming to the city.

From the airport you can reach the center of the city in different ways. It is possible to rent cars on many different companies such as Hertz, Avis or Europcar.

If you want to access Barcelona by public transport you can take the Aerobus, with also service at night.

You also have the opportunity to take the train to enter the city from the airport. The station is connected to the airport by a walkway and you’ll be able to change in order to get to the metro.

Lastly, you can also take a taxi. A normal run to the city center will cost between 20€ and 50€ (depending on the day, if it is at night…) and will ensure you get to your destination in the city easily and fast.

Arrival to Barcelona by train

Reaching Barcelona by train is a very good choice in terms of transportation: all the Barcelona train stations are close to metro lines and you’ll easily be able to get to your destination using the underground network. However, also many bus lines and taxis will be at your disposal.

Arrival in Barcelona From the port

If you're enjoying a cruise and you want to stop in Barcelona for a visit you can access the city from the port by bus. This is a service that brings you directly to Plaza Colon (in the beginning of Las Ramblas) and it is charged 2€. Once there, you will be next to the metro line 3 station of Drassanes and ready to reach every point of the city.

Arriving at the port of Barcelona won’t suppose any big problem in terms of transportation. You’ll easily be able to take a taxi or a bus, and also to take the metro after walking a little bit.

Remember that public transport prices are much cheaper in Barcelona than in many other places in Europe!
